Where else could you get away with doing THIS to your boss?
So a few of my coworkers and I decided to have a little fun with TGIWF this afternoon.
TGIWF finally bought himself a new car earlier this year, after driving the same car for the past 10 years. Needless to say, he’s proud of it (as he should be) and a number of us have noticed that he likes to park his new beauty far away from the rest of us. So today, we decided we’d corner him by parking the five of us around him as close as we could to block him in.
It certainly got a laugh out of all of us, but also out of TGIWF. Overall, I tried to figure out the cost of this stunt to better inform the larger corporations and CEO’s that would normally frown upon this behavior just how much money was lost today.
Hours/Cost in Planning |
$0 – planning happened over lunch |
Cost in Gas |
5 cars; 20 seconds of run/idle time per vehicle…we figure $7.475 total fuel/maintenance/vehicle damage |
Time lost in gawking at joke |
5 minutes x 6 people = $100+ |
Cost in time to write this blog |
$*** Sorry, I can’t disclose my salary |
Time spent actually enjoying your job and coworkers |
PRICELESS! |
All in good fun.

Oh, this cracks me up, Angela! And then the little table to show how cost-effective the stunt was - brilliant! Few executives understand how much more productive happy employees are, but I am quite certain you have a boss who knows this. I also love the - ummm - man purse.
I just found your blog and enjoy it very much. Thanks!
