Well, Murray and Mater the Land Cruiser (I finally named his rig!) had a great season last year as the only rig that didn’t break down on the trails
, but this year was his year for breaking. On our way out from running Poison Spyder; Golden Spike; Gold Bar Rim, Murray decided that he didn’t like his steering so he tied it up to look like a U-joint! Funny thing is, it doesn’t work like that. After hammering at it to break it loose and some WD-40, the boys bent it out with the spare cheater bar, housed it with the cheater bar and hooked him back up. Somewhere along the trail, Murray also broke his battery tray, but that we will fix another day. Until then, bungee cords and wire work great. We still made it off the trail before the nightfall, which is good since we don’t all have lights. We have to drive the highway to get back home, yet with one rig that is VERY obviously not street legal we managed to pass two Moab She-riff’s with no lights or tickets. Gotta love Moab!
