Yesterday was probably one of the most important days in my life to me, as I feel that while I had a wonderful time, I truly did something that matters.
Yep, that's me on the far right. Four of us put on our old wedding dresses and followed the very talented professional photographer, Mr. Eric Laurits around Downtown Denver for a all day photo shoot.
For 30, I’m pretty impressed that Eric managed to make me look like a seasoned professional model!
The photo shoot was arranged to raise awareness for the Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation. Making Memories offers women terminally ill with breast cancer a positive moment of joy in their tragic fight by offering them the chance to have a dress out of the many donated by former brides, such as myself that have donated their dress to the foundation. They also hold dress sales to sell the dresses at a discounted rate to normal brides, and all proceeds go towards the ongoing battle against breast cancer.
Many of you know that breast cancer is a very personal cause to me that has hit not only my maternal side, but now my paternal side of my family. All of the courageous women in my family that have fought and lost, or fought and overcome are who I dedicate this shoot to, and I donate my dress for the women who are going to fight this disease in the future. Fight for the cure!
This one is of me, also. Click on the pictures for a larger view!
