You know, there are a lot of people that are unemployed out there and a lot of interviews going on here at work right now. Since I am the assistant, I interact with ALL of these people to schedule their interviews with TGIWF. TGIWF has often blogged that the interview starts with the receptionist and I certainly fall into that category as well. He almost always asks me my opinion of the folks he's meeting with before he enters a interview to get my feeling about my interaction with them during the scheduling process.
Remember that when you're talking with the receptionist or setting up your interview with "the help". While my position may seem like "the help" to you because it doesn't have a management title in front of it, my role is far more important than it sounds on paper. I'm the one who keeps the management running smoothly and their go to person to get things done. TGIWF respects me VERY MUCH and also respects my opinion. Your interview with him starts with me.
