One of the most important things all the Twin books and mom groups I'm now involved in for twins stress one very important rule. Treat your twins as individuals. Spend 1 on 1 time with each of them. They are two different people so don't refer to them as "the twins", refer to them by name.
I was fortunate enough to stay home with Ashley alone yesterday and while we didn't get a TON of 1 on 1 time with my working, we did get to enjoy just the two of us during our feeding times and she sat next to me in her bouncy chair listening to music and singing while I worked. There was alot of talking and giggling yesterday just the two of us and I really enjoyed it. Since she is taking part in the T.E.D.D.Y. Diabetes Study, we'll be having alot of these 1 on 1 dates just Ashley and I to take part in their research.
Despite having pink eye, she was in a really great mood all day and I enjoyed having our special day together. Since I have the luxury of Friday daycare that I can use or not use, I think it'll be important to pull Bree out every once in a while for the same kind of day so we have our own bonding time too. And while I'm sure my comment will frustrate alot of followers that I have, I'm still gonna say it - TENDING TO ONE INFANT IS EASIER THAN TENDING TO TWO! But this is coming from an extremely organized mom who doesn't know any different than starting from the beginning with two. My blog is a place for me to express my own thoughts and feelings. If you don't like my thoughts, my blog can easily be removed from your favorites tab!
So I'll dedicate this blog to my oldest, my first born (by six minutes) and my beautiful individual baby Ashley. Thanks for a great day yesterday sweetheart! Mommy Loves You!!
