Since I'm off of work today and Ashley is back in daycare after her sick day yesterday, I'm planning on utilizing today and next Friday to work on packing up the house. We've hired movers for Sunday, February 14th. Happy Valentines Day! We'll be homeless! Our renters move in to the Villages at Buffalo Run house on March 1st. As for us Lollars, we move in with my parents, Gigi and Big Daddy. Mom is so worried that by the end of our stay (which should be about June) that we'll all hate each other, but I have higher hopes that won't happen.
So while we are "Waiting On The World To Change", we continue to do our daily drive-by's of the house on Helena Street to check out the progress!
Since my last blog they've done ALOT! They have dug the hole, poured the foundation and today they are back filling and prepping for the next steps which are to finish up the underground plumbing and puring the concrete floor of the basement and garage. After that, we'll start watching it grow UP from the hole into the framing! (It's so nice to be married to a General Contractor that can make me sound so educated about building!!)
On my drive-by this morning after taking the girls to daycare, I took these pictures of the progress. Part of the appeal to this house is that the 3-car garage is large enough for extra space dedicated just to Phill's tools, Warthog can fit INSIDE instead of outside on the driveway and I still get plenty of room to park Cliff the Ford Edge/mommy mobile/NO...I WILL NEVER GET A MINIVAN daily driver all inside. I'm impressed to see that in it's current state, the garage is also large enough to house a Caterpillar 938G Wheel Loader!
Ok, this is my 3rd time trying to post a comment here... for some reason it's not saving it!
But - I just wanted to say congrats on the new hizzouse - ! You will absolutely love having so much more space. And how fun that you get to see it literally built from the ground up. Good luck w/ packing & let me know if you need anything!!! I'm sure there are prob extra boxes floating around our attic!
